This page explains what data the site uses, how cookies work here, and how you can ask us to remove your data or to stop checking a mail server.
When you check an email address, we use it only to run that single verification: we look up the domain’s DNS (MX) records and briefly contact the mail server to ask whether the mailbox would be accepted. We never send a message to the address. We do not sell, publish, or share the addresses you check.
To avoid contacting the same mail server repeatedly, we keep a short-lived cache of a check’s outcome. This cache expires automatically and is not used to build profiles of people.
We use a small number of cookies to remember your preferences (such as your chosen language and your cookie choice) and, where you allow it, to measure and improve the site. In regions that require it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies; you can decline and the core tools still work. Third-party services we may load (such as Google AdSense and Google Analytics) can set their own cookies when consent is given.
If you operate a mail server and do not want us to query it, or you believe our checks are unwanted, contact us and we will add your server to an exclusion list. We aim to be a good network citizen: checks are rate-limited and we stop probing servers that signal they would rather not be contacted.
You can ask us to remove any data associated with you, or to address any privacy concern, using the contact button below. We respond to every message.
Use the contact button at the bottom of any page to reach us about privacy, data removal, or mail-server exclusion requests.
